Meet Our New Artistic Director: Beth Marlowe
We are so exciting to welcome Beth Marlowe as the new Artistic Director of West T. Hill Community Theater after Karen’s retirement. Beth is a longtime actor and director at WTH and even served as the children’s theater coordinator in the past. In just the few month she has taken over she has been doing so many exciting things and we can’t wait to see what else she has up her sleeve. Get to know a little more about Beth in this interview and if you see her around the theater make sure to say hi!
How did you end up as the artistic director of West T. Hill?
Karen Logue suggested me for the position and I was so honored by that. I worked with her for the last year she was in the job and learned from her what it took to run this place! I still have a lot to learn but we have a great board and Karen has promised to always be around to help!
What is your goal for the future of West T. Hill?
My goal for WTH is to bring in more people, to get a bit more funding, and to get our theater in the position to celebrate its 50th anniversary and then last another 50 years (or more)! I also want to continue to grow and start new programing for the people of Danville. Most importantly I want to continue the legacy of West T. Hill and Karen Logue and the amazing job they did with this theater.
What do you love about West T. Hill Community Theater?
That it is a true community theater that allows anybody to explore and hone their creative talents. I love the people I have met at the theater! So many of them have become like family to me and I love that I am now a part of helping others find their people as well.
What is something important the patrons of West T. Hill should know about you?
That I am always open to ideas! Even if we can’t do them all I still love hearing them. I’m always interested to hear your constructive criticism and how we can improve our programming to best reach the people of Danville.
